We are excited to share some exciting news with you – an updated brand that better connects with the work we are collectively getting done together.

The St. Croix Economic Development Corporation was launched in the 1990s to help recruit, support, and retain businesses and attract new investment in our communities.

The results have strengthened St. Croix County’s economy at such an important time. As the successful work continues, it was also time to update our brand and the message it sends to better represent the multifaceted nature of our work and the unique characteristics of St. Croix County.

Our new three-color design embodies the essence of our region: the green signifies the abundance of agriculture, the grey/black represents our strong manufacturing and industrial base, and the blue honors our iconic river that flows through and enriches our community. This palette not only highlights the physical attributes of our county but also symbolizes the values we uphold. In the design world, gray stands for wisdom, blue for stability, and green for renewal, all qualities that resonate deeply with our mission and vision for St. Croix County.

Additionally, the three-part design also reflects our approach to the work we do and help coordinate:

    • Address local, state, and federal legislative issues
    • Active involvement in important economic development activities such as childcare, broadband, housing and more
    • Attracting and retaining businesses through assistance with site selection, financing & incentives, workforce attraction & development, and advocacy & outreach.

These three elements combine to create the broader vision which is why they are then unified by a circle. This updated brand is more than just a visual; it signifies our commitment to fostering growth, stability, and innovation within our community.

We believe this refreshed identity sends a stronger message to help us communicate more effectively with our stakeholders, enhancing our ability to advocate for and support the economic development of St. Croix County. We look forward to continuing our work together under this new, vibrant banner.

In addition to the brand changes, there are other changes happening here at SCEDC as well!

    • The monthly newsletter is now called St. Croix Happenings and is sent around the 15th of every month. This updated publication also replaces the news clippings that some of you were being emailed. You’ll instead find links in each of these newsletters to current news, learning opportunities, economic development articles and more.
    • We will be discontinuing the printed Chronicle publication that had been going out quarterly for many years. The final issue will be mailed in Sept/Oct of this year. This will be replaced by additional virtual communications, including full stories/press releases of our award winners each year.
    • We will be launching a new website within the next few weeks with several exciting updates:
      • This new website will include new resources for businesses, site selectors and members
      • A new member portal of which members will have the chance to customize very soon
      • Virtual payment options for memberships, sponsorships and events
      • The blog will be combined with news for a one-stop option to see all the latest at SCEDC
    • There are a few shifts to membership as well:
      • SCEDC now offers a Small Business membership option for small businesses under $1M in revenue
      • Many benefits have been added that are tied to the new member portal
      • Advertising opportunities have shifted to more direct sponsorship opportunities for events

They say that change is the only constant, right? We are so excited to be sharing these changes with each and every one of you and are very much looking forward to the future of this organization and the success of St. Croix County.
